Aspartame is poison. The best non-caloric sweetener is xylitol. I grow stevia and use it for sweetening teas, but you can't really cook with it. Xylitol is cup for cup equivalent to sugar so you can use it to replace sugar in any recipe.

I'm with him on securing the borders, as long as it isn't a virtual fence. As, for:

"Avoid long and expensive land wars that bankrupt our country by using constitutional means to capture or kill terrorist leaders who helped attack the U.S. and continue to plot further attacks."

I am not for long and expensive land wars, but tell me how he would use "constitutional means" to address the safe haven problem and eliminate the al Qaeda threast.

Well, forgive my faulty memory, I thought you guys said he was an isolationist, awhile back.

NYT? No way, Jose!

Speaking of media maggots, Dan Rather's name cropped up in Don Rumsfeld's book, p. 255. Apparently, CBS launched an attack on aspertame after it had been cleared. Dan Rather broadcast discredited allegations for three nights in Jan '84. Searle provided CBS with data about the safety of NutraSweet taht they didn't use. Searle blasted Rather for "patently absudd" reporting and "manipulative editing." What a disgrace.
