We bought our house with a radon remediation system. I took one look at it when we moved in 18 years ago and unplugged it. The whole radon thing is a scam, IMO. Our bedroom window is always open--even in the winter, so there's plenty of ventilation.

Now they've dropped the permissible amount of arsenic in well water below the naturally occuring and perfectly safe level, so there are expensive remediation systems being installed in new construction and most resales.

OKAY, SO "THEY" TELL ME THAT I NEED "REMEDIATION" FOR A HIGH COUNT ON MY RADON TEST.

I FLUNKED THE FIRST ONE BIG-TIME.

SO, I GET THIS UGLY-ASS REMEDIATION DONE, AT GREAT EXPENSE, AND HAVE AN ELECTRICIAN HOOK THE WHOLE DANG THING UP.

IT RUNS 24/7 IN A BASEMENT THAT NOBODY USES.

OKAY,FINE, YA PRIICKS.

JUST GOT MY ELECTRIC BILL.

I AM JUMPING OUT THE WINDOW RIGHT NOW.
