Cutting back the stalks (properly called 'scapes') fools the plant into reflowering because it senses that there are no seeds forming. It only works for some varieties and doesn't for most of our hybrids. Growers call the varieties that do 'reblooming' or better yet 'everblooming'.

This is one of the daylily beds with a little rock fountain--a small pump in a 5-gal bucket topped with hardware cloth and some river stone.

Cool!

I did not know there was such a variety either.

They sure are pretty.

Our Day Lillies are relatively short, around 3 feet max height. We also were told by the garden center to cut back the stems once that have bloomed so that more flowers will come. This way you get blooms with our variety all summer/fall long.

They sure are beautiful aren't they Due? Lovely!

Thanks for sharing!
