Roebling also built the suspension bridge across the Ohio River from Cincinnati over into Northern Kentucky, Newport I believe it is.

Had you checked the engineering specs on those wire cables? They are unbelievably strong. This guy was extremely good.

Speaking of wire rope...

Around here when one thinks of wire rope one thinks of Roebling. John Roebling pioneered its manufacture and use here in the USA and famously built this:

We have a smaller Roebling suspension bridge nearby--built in 1904 across the Delaware at Riegelsville. It's a beauty in its own right:
