My faulty recollection was we used F-14s and stealth B-somethings, the latter flying from the US.
Given this list of planes (no F-14 stats, since the Navy flew them), it certainly was a mixed bag:

Here's a reference to Afghanistan in 2001. Likely that the same aircraft were used the next time around.

Sorry, micro, I should have checked. One of the unique characteristics of the F14, btw, is it could shoot down a target from 125 miles away using the Phoenix missile system. WHile it was designated a fighter, it was that plus more.
