I haven't seen much improvement over my 1972 VW I bought new. All talk methinks.

Absolutely correct, ribit. The only thing that has changed has been the average weight of the vehicles on the road. Had a 1976 Honda Accord that got 30-33 mpg IN THE CITY, in stop and go driving - and up to 35-36 mpg on the open road at 70 mph.

Likes ya said, not much improvement.

...probaly just got oil expensive enough to make it profitable.

I was wondering about something. Seems we have been listening to a lot of stuff about "better gas mileage" vehicles blah blah blah. I haven't seen much improvement over my 1972 VW I bought new. All talk methinks.
