I wonder if a car, seat belted in with air bags would be safer than a house?

Due - you miss the point, completely.

The point being: "Why bother ?"

There are no tornado shelters here, the houses are pieces of crap - If you're going to get hit, you're going to get hit. No point in bothering me with a bunch of nonsense noise and bother prior to that. I'd rather go in peace.

Sanguine ? Stupid ? Fatalistic ? Naw - just like I said - I don't give a damn about what they claim is the latest 'disaster' heading my way. Dejame en paz.

Simple Realism - and understanding what the odds really are. Live in worry, or just go about living - my choice is the latter.

And No, I do NOT bother with a 'battery operated' radio - or listening to the 'emergency broadcasts' - they have not added a single second of security, nor made my life 'safer' in any manner whatsoever in over fifty years.

Comes a time in life when one gains the wisdom to understand that a lot of the 'crap' people worry about - just isn't worth the effort in the first place.

Sorry you didn't get that from my post. Disagree, fine - but I am very, very far from 'stupid' about this issue.
