Hmmm - Take it that was for tornado alerts ?

The sirens at all the local fire stations were going off like crazy for about half an hour here.

My dogs DEFINITELY do not like those sirens - they are incredibly loud and scare the ever-loving-crap out of those little guys.

Damn sirens don't do a whole hell of a lot of good without some type of announcement telling people what the hell the sirens are about. They DO have a 'voice system' that is just as loud and obnoxious as the sirens - but it never gets used - except for endlessly repeating crap in English and Spanish at maximum volume (again, extremely upsetting to the animals) telling us 'this is just a test - in the case of an emergency we will tell you to bend over and kiss your sweet ass good-bye'.

Pardon me - But frankly - I don't give a damn about all these warnings. What damn good are they ?

This place was a hell of a lot more enjoyable when there wasn't any 'civilization' and 'guvmint out to protect us' within miles of here. Did just fine without their help prior to that - and would do whole hell of a lot better without their 'hep' (sic) now.

Time to move my ass out of here.
