Saudi Arabia accepted the Yemeni opposition demand for president Saleh to step down. In the last-minute attempt to prevent Yemen from falling into anarchy, Saudis proposed that Saleh’s place be taken by his vice president. The opposition so far agreed, certainly in the expectation that it would be easier for them to oust the VP.

When opposition wins, pro-Iranian groups and Al Qaeda will enjoy unrestricted freedom in Yemen.
