I have maintained for more than twenty years, that low fat diets are not only a bad idea, but are actually DANGEROUS.
Severe nerve damage occurs without a proper balance of fats in the diet - at least 30% of total calories consumed.
This is from personal experience with attempting a 'very low fat' diet in a (vain) attempt to lose weight.
Sitting at a computer screen for over 30 years has taken a very hard toll on me - per Due's other excellent article.
