Hmmmm .... informative - especially on the tactic of refutation taken on each point. He uses the 'prevailing wisdom' on a lot of the points - but the 'prevailing wisdon' is often quite egregiously incorrect.
Example - First Point - GDP falling with cuts in the deficit - the 'dollar for dollar' thing. Conventional wisdom, yes - but wrong. When a 'family' is in a debt spiral to oblivion - the FIRST thing that MUST be done is ... quit increasing the debt. CUT SPENDING - DRASTICALLY. They do not even THINK about attempting to 'cut their debt' until that is done.
In fact, A family in 'debt spiral to oblivion' must not only CUT SPENDING DRASTICALLY - but must cut it to WELL BELOW THEIR INCOME LEVEL. THEN - they START SAVING. Hyup, SAVING FIRST - before applying 'everything left over' to debt. When they have established a saving pattern - THEN AND ONLY THEN, do they start working on paying off some of their debt a little bit at a time.
So, no Karl - it is not a 'dollar per dollar' correlation - as spending is cut, actual money is freed up in the economy to 'make it more productive' - which INCREASES GDP. But, as you notice - The EMPHASIS is NOT on 'first cutting the debt' - the emphasis is FIRST and FOREMOST on butchering, slaughtering, sewing the mouth shut of the insatiably greedy bastards known as Guvmint - state, local, AND federal.
Shut down the feeding trough.
That is just on 'point #1'.
Another: The absolutely incorrect discussion about who pays what in taxes - that is the Reason that I NEVER listen to Rush Limbaugh any longer. We've covered that issue previously, and in depth. It is TOTALLY INCORRECT.
BUT - Reading stuff like that - and picking apart the 'corrections' to the DELIBERATE LIES of the 'Guvmint' - will help us develop finely honed arguments that are unassailable.
And THAT is important - because it leaves the ravenously feeding vultures with no place left in which they may circle.
