No worries, micro ... I wasn't attempting to inject more beer into a pissing contest ... I was just curious about the numbers, myself. So, I shared what I found - that's all.

I realize the numbers were not your point ... and, if you had asked me to make a cold, unresearched guess, I would have thought it was higher than what I found, too. I think a lot of people think of the immensity of World War II casualties, overall, and automatically presume that U.S. combat casualties had to be in the millions in that conflict alone, but those millions and millions and millions of worldwide casualties were dominated by civilian casualties (bombing, disease, and merciless atrocities committed by the Germans, Japanese & Russians) and the Japanese and Russian armies that treated their very own soldiers as expendable.
