I am so bored from not being able to go visit family or drive up to have fun with my wife's family and friends.
In the meantime it left me with time to ponder a dilemna we have here. A NEED for a larger storage shed..

My current barn roof shaped shed is 35 year old and full.

Of course, way back then, I never knew we would need a lot more space than that. So, idle minds are the devils workshop..

My grandson and his dad were over to assist in some physically demanding tree root removal for me last week for a couple of hours. They worked and I cheered..

When done. I was looking at my shed and asked my son in law what he thought about the idea of maybe adding four feet to the length of the shed...

He told me my daughter and him were just talking about our shed and he suggested making it an 8 foot addition. get rid of the barn roof and short side walls, and make it 8 foot tall sidewalls with a standard 4:12 pitched roof we can easily shingle. This makes the shed 20 feet in length x 8 ft high x 8 foot wide.
Five foot double door in center for access and have room for the 42 inch riding mowerfor winter storage.

It isn't much effor to build a 8x8 platfoorm that matches the same one on the existing shed and butt it up and secure it and connect to the existine one. Framing up some new walls should be no big deal as we have all the power equipment to do that. I have a large contractor table saw, 12 inch DeWalt sliding power miter saw, MAkita Reciprocating saw, large air compresor to run the pneumatic framing nail gun and roofing nail gun off of.

Plenty of table extensions for the table saw for cutting large pieces and support so we can avoid using the circular saws.

I am kind of excied about doing this as I tink it will be fun and challenging.

I found at Home Depot some nice 50 year warranted composite siding for the new shed so I do not ned to worry about ROT and decay.. I will be dead for awhile before that becomes an issue...

For less than a grand I can get all the materials needed.

This would be agreat project for NEMO to work on but alas, he is in the far northwest... SO my son in law, grandson, myself and brother will tackle it and try to be done in 3 days....
Have to first take apart the existing shed and get everything out of it and there itself is amakor undertaking... Miz micro never throws anything away .

I can't say too much. Although the things I keep are for working and my gold clubs, baseball gear, fishing gear, and other things...

SO we need the space... This will give me something to do.. I will keep the percocet handy for night...

Should be a fun time while accomplishing something that will last....
