Good analysis De. IN other words, the doctors there basically blew it and wound up contributing to the deaths of many patients because they were pig headed....

Wonder why they simply could not follow what was shown to be working well and simply do that? Sheeeeesh.

The VA study of hydroxychloroquine is garbage. Why do I say so? Because of this line from the study, not reported by the media, that makes it impossible/unreasonable to compare those who received HCQ with those who did not:

"However, hydroxychloroquine, with or without azithromycin, was more likely to be prescribed to patients with more severe disease, as assessed by baseline ventilatory status and metabolic and hematologic parameters."

What does this mean? It means that as patients crashed, doctors rushed to prescribe HCQ and, yes, more of them died than those who were not as ill.

I want to point out one other thing. HCQ is an antiviral medication. After SARS-Cov-2 has caused severe lung damage, it is too late to use it. It won't stop a dying patient from dying. Yet that is what the VA study reported doctors as doing. Naturally, HCQ didn't work. The drug has to be taken early, with azithromycin and zinc, but was not.
