I personally do not like Bill Gates even one tiny bit. That said, its his money and he can feel free to buy whatever he wants just like anyone else in America. I dsagree vehemtly with him and his ideology and associations. But in America, you have the right to purchase something if it is legal and for sale and you have the means to pay for it..

I wish he would have bought a place on a deserted isle with no means of leaving...ever..

Re: "Bill and Melinda Gates Splurge""Splurge"??? Oh, brother. The estate is costing Bill 4 percent of one percent of his worth. It's comparable to a man worth $1 million dollars spending $4,000 on a vacation - though, of course, taking a vacation IS an extravagance while buying a house is not.

Looked at another way, if Bill Gates spent $10 billion on an estate, that would be pretty big news. Spending $43 million on one just makes me say, "Is that all?"
