Hey Micro,
I think I got it. Truth to tell, it was that new Hiren's boot
disk that fixed it.

The BIOS said I had only one drive. Win-7 said there was
two. Hiren's booted up in Windows 10 and it said there
was only one drive. I tried 'cleaning' things up with Hiren's
and formatted to one partition and when I went back to
Win-7 it said I STILL had two drives.

Long story short I told Hiren's to turn the drive from an
MBR to a GPT. When I went back to Win-7 it finally said
I only had one drive. I used DiskPart to clean it again
and then used disk manager to re-partition it into two
different sized partitions. Success. Two partitions on one
disk instead of two disks.

Bonus, there is a thing called 'Intel Rapid Storage' on
the Win-7 which had said the 'two drives' drive did not exist.
Until I completed the above. Now it says it does exist
and it is quite happy with it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I could not have 'fixed' it without Hirens.

Zim.
