An initial housing crisis is likely. Then government will step in and either fund landlords directly or halt evictions via edict. The former would be grossly unfair to taxpayers, but it's really no different than the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) now being implemented to subsidize small businesses. The latter would be unfair too, but to a much smaller group.

I expect we will also see some sort of compulsory sharing of residences - that is, more than one family per house. Once again, I wouldn't want to be living in a city. They're where the most draconian measures will be taken.
