Re: "Maybe this hydroxychloroquine works the same way against covid 19. It doesn't kill the virus, it just treats the symptoms til your body fights it off. Hydroxychloroquine didn't cure malaria either. It just kept it from killing ya"
The verbiage I posted is a bit techie, but what it's saying is that the chloroquine goes in and inhibits three of the virus's proteins from attacking the heme in red blood cells and displacing iron. Without chloroquine, there's then a double whammy attack on the body: The iron is toxic, and oxygen is no longer transported by the red blood cells, resulting in oxygen deprivation and CO2 buildup. This suggests that COVID-19 is essentially a blood disease, not the presumed cytokine storm.

...years and years ago a kid in my neighborhood got rabies. They put him in a tub at the hospital and packed him in ice. Kept him just about frozen for several days til the fever broke. He lived. No one would suggest that ice cures rabies. What it did was keep the fever from killing him while his body fought it off. Maybe this hydroxychloroquine works the same way against covid 19. It doesn't kill the virus, it just treats the symptoms til your body fights it off. Hydroxychloroquine didn't cure malaria either. It just kept it from killing ya.
