...I got several Garmin 10 or so years old and they still update em online no questions asked. If you got the upgrade thingy, it follows the garmin wherever it goes. You can sell it, give it away whatever and when the new owner plugs it in Garmin will upload it right away at no charge.

Get ya a really big (whatever it will hold) chip for the thing. I have the entire united states on mine.

...and another thing! Ya can get rid of all them pop up thingies that try to sell ya where to eat, get gas, whatever. It ain't easy but I found some directions on the net and dumped all mine. Now I only get em if I ask for one.

did ya git one that has lifetime updateable maps?

I have had one like this for some time but, just recently, found out that Magellan considers three years to be the lifetime of the device.
