Wrong. Fauci actually compared it to a VERY bad flu. Your source chose to water his statement down.

As I've said many times here, hospitalized COVID-19 patients die at twice the rate of hospitalized flu patients. I'd say that probably makes it comparable to a very bad flu. Where it differs from influenza is that a COVID-19 patient is many times more likely to need hospitalization, and the disease is about 30 times as contagious as a typical flu.

I don't know if this epidemiologist is dumb, but since he's just changed his prediction radically, dismantling him based on his track record won't be hard.

KInda sounds like the rest of them doesn't it DE...

So says a just-published article in the New England Journal of Medicine by none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci.

New England Journal Of Medicine Report: Coronavirus Shaping Up To Be No More Of A Threat Than Case Of “Bad Flu.”

#msg-1123839

Here’s the thing.
Authorities have known for weeks the likely outcome that the coronavirus is not nearly as serious of a threat as the much-overblown original reports suggested. From the cruise ship statistics, to South Korea, and even Italy, the same scale of the virus has been rather easily determined and none of those examples, not a single one, justifies the significant panic that has been so aggressively pushed by media and political figures alike.

Every public health issue should be taken seriously but panic is not serious so much as potentially very damaging and yet panic is exactly what has been served up to people here in America and elsewhere. And that panic campaign continues even as experts like Dr. Fauci are signalling the coronavirus is likely nothing more than a case of a bad flu. Some will get sick. Some will die. JUST. LIKE. THE FLU.
