LOL!!!! Well that actually is quite imaginative use of a source of air. As long as using it got rid of the build up of accumulated dust that the fins of the heat sink and fan blades of the cooling fan accumulate and you did not harm anything else like blowing off wires, The blower shold have been okay.
I use either my small air compressor with a wide air nozzle
and also a vacuum cleaner with the both the brush attachment and small crevice tool.
Couple times a year it gets a good cleaning and stays running cool.
Ya can check yer cpu temperature in your system BIOS to see if it is running fairly cool. The cooler the better.
If it gets hot then your computyer will start doing weird things. Same is true with a tick of memory that starts to go bad. They get HOT also and becuse of the overheating the data passing thru gets interrupted and then your computer does things like you described also.
SO a clean inside is a happy inside.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN that something may not be going bad but it is a good place to start...
DID You per chance when you changed your hard drive get a solid state one?
That would really speed up your start up and processing data times....
