...I replaced the hard drive a few years back and I upgraded to max ram this machine is spozed to tolerate. Unlike the windows 10 machine the wife has it is relatively simple and efficient. That's what I like, simple and efficient.

Check the simple things like dust accumulation around the processor's heatsink and the cooling fan fins and clean them with a can of air and a fine brush.

...are you saying I should not have taken it out in the yard and used the leaf blower on it?

How much of the hard drive space is used up?
Also, are you suing any cleaning tools to get rid of the dailyaccumulation of junk files that occur?
Like C Cleaner for example cleans your hard disk of junk.

I pulled up your computer specs and am looking at the machine..

The hard drive that came with it is 750 GB spinning disc hard drive. The 750 is nt bad sized but it all depends on how much video like pictures and music files you are saving on that computer. Those things eat up some space.

You have enough RAM (memory)

Question. WHEN is last time you took the side cover off of it and cleaned it realy good and especially the HEAT SINK and fan? Lots of dust accumulates in there and air cannot circulate to keep the porcessor running cool and then things start to happen. You might do a simple check on that. Could be an easy solution.....

Are you using Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit?

I use 64 Bit Professional. It runs flawlessly.

Check the simple things like dust accumulation around the processor's heatsink and the cooling fan fins and clean them with a can of air and a fine brush.... Blow it all out afterward. Thiis could be causing a heating issue which would something that could cause the symptoms you are describing...

Just a few simple ideas for you to check on before spending any TIME or money....
