What you don't understand is that everyone already knows people are buying tp and purell. However, we did not have a four month notice that the coronavirus was coming. There is a 9 week gestation period for dogs and cats. Plus 8 weeks before they can be rehomed. That is a four month lead time. So if people are still selling puppies in five months you can harass then for being irresponsible for breeding during a pandemic.
I just had a litter of puppies just as the virus entered the usa. In six more weeks they will be ready to go to their new homes when the pandemic is so much worse. I already know I will have one neck of a time selling the babies. I am already making plans for a contact-less, outdoor trade off. I would have never bred my Sophie had I known this would happen. However, I am not going to murder a whole litter of puppies because of the pandemic. Now, I just have to support 6 more mouths during this crazy time.
What we don't need is Craigslist cronies constantly reminding us that we do not have the ability to see six months in the future. Have some compassion and understanding. This is hard on us all.
