I'll say one thing for themajority of the so called GLOBAL thinkers. They mostly are anti Trumpers, and one worlders.
They spew things like shared tech and tot rust our fronds the Chinese.
I got a bridge I would like to sell them if they think the CHICOMS are our friends.
As far as technology goes, The Chinese have been stealing it by various means for decades in order to keep up.
I think one person might have one aspect right. NAtional self sustaining of supplies and goods.
WILL that make items more expensive? Yes.
But then again, I don;t need or want an I-phone. I am quite happy with things that cost FAR less and allow me to comunicate every bit as well. So I do not need CHINA to assemble Iphones nor do I care what they cost... If people are stupid enough to pay $1100 for a new Iphone every other year, that tells you something about their priorities and is THEIR financial problem THEY created and brought on themselves.

I have done without a lot of 'things" in my lifetime. My house is relatively small for example. It's well equipped, very nice inside and out, but sizewise it is modest. NOBODY would drive by and think that a corporate Business owner lives there... Good. I am happy with other stuff. Ido not drive a luxury car for example. I am content with a nice riding everyday car that everyone drives. Hyundai is not a luxury car brand. I can afford to go pay cash for a Benz, Lexus, Volvo, Audi, BMW, whatever but see no reason to. In ten years time they will depreciate so much what was the point? Status?
I hope America does make some changes as also the UK, Canada, and someother CLOSE allies... Not pretenders.
I am more Nationalistic and self reliant and make it here in America which is how America came to grwo into the country it was by the mid 20th century..
Let's get back to making things here like MEDICINES and clothing and electronics. Will they cost more? YES. But they likely will be made VERY WELL and will help support households and people with incomes and they can have families and grow again.

I'm just a retired manufacturing business ownder who ran three manufacturing corporations and owned the last two. I never lost money either or had an employee quit.
We can do this by bringing back industries here and resurrecting these communities where the copanies closed because we started buyinbg everything from WONG Ho Dong enterprises across the pond, who has tried to kill us all.

Let's start the fires and get nback to work America Open up the Textile mills and lets get cranking. Open up assemly factories and put together our own cellpones here in the US and Televsions and all theother clohing and things we buy.. You could make this country prosperous again with everyone working if we bring the work home and if we have to subcontract out because not enough workers, DO NOT sub out to China. Mexico has plenty of people needing to work as assembly jobs as do people over in Malaysia Thailand, etc.
Jusy my opnion and I know yours will vary so please do nt take anything I think personal.. We are all different and see things differently.. My age may have a lot to do withit as well as will Ribs and DG's.
But I enjoy being self sufficient as does the Captain.
Bring the work back home here to America and let the Industrial and technology ages BOOM here and let the world see the American exceptionalism that does exist when we rally together in one accord...
