We've got 1,300 known cases in the country. If we use my 10-carriers-to-1-known-case rule, there should be about 13,000 people walking around spreading the disease. It's curious why the President would worry about new infections from Europe right now.

Maybe not. It wouldn't be odd if there's more than one strain out there... something I've speculated about for a while. If there were two, though, you'd think that a genetics lab somewhere would have announced it. So that leaves me, again, with ... nothing. What other reason could there be to sever travel to the EU right now? (BTW, I don't believe for a second that it will only be for 30 days. There's no way that the restriction will be lifted until the pandemic is much improved.) Maybe Trump is simply using the pandemic as an opportunity to strike a blow at the heart of the Globalization effort. It'd be a strategy straight out of the Democrat playbook.
