BTW, the one sitting next to me coughed. THREE TIMES.

IS she or was she ever a smoker? People that stop but were smokers for awhile still will cough. Its from a tickle in the throat/lung area. It lingers... Especiallycomes out after talking for awhile which vibrates the tissue and causes that auto-reflex cough...

Yes sir. Seen it a long time and know it well. Doesn;t have to be someone who is starting a course of flu..

Re: "Yet more information that appears to have been suppressed by the 24/7 media hysterics surrounding the coronavirus outbreak"
I terminated my Cardio-Rehab sessions Wednesday, halfway through the 18-session regimen. (Cardio-Rehab is just exercise while wired up to heart monitors.) I'm doing well and I decided that physically entering a Dartmouth-Hitchcock facility - the entirety of which should now be viewed as contaminated since personnel get exchanged between campuses - when it's not absolutely necessary is a really bad idea. At the end, the other patients were all gone and the two nurses who run the program and I had a chance to talk. I first brought up the subject of the employee at the hospital's main campus who had exposed so many others. Then the conversation morphed into concern about SARS-CoV-2. The two nurses threw ALL the media lies at me. It's clear that they have been indoctrinated. They claimed:

• "It's just a coronavirus. A cold. We have good immune systems and don't need to worry about it."

• "The flu is worse." (This one always sets me off since Covid-19 is far more contagious, far more likely to land an exposed person in the hospital and far more likely to kill a patient who is already in the hospital. All that the flu has over Covid-19 is the "advantage" of having been around longer.)

• "I'm not going to be buying things at the store because of this. I think that doing so will only cause more harm."

• "People need to stop buying masks. Masks don't help." (Au, contraire. Masks don't protect the wearer, but they do decrease the transmission of the virus by those who are infected. And since some who are infected don't know they are infected, everyone should be wearing masks. If that happened, Covid-19's R0 would plummet and the disease would quickly go away. Masks are, therefore, probably the BEST course of treatment western countries could implement.)

I disagreed with them and tossed out facts that they clearly didn't know - that flu has an R0 of 1.3 while SARS-Cov-2 has an R0 between 4.3 and 7... that the W.H.O. just upped Covid-19's mortality rate to 3.7 percent while the flu's is 0.05 percent... that the chance of a given infected person dying from Covid-19 is between 20 and 85 times higher than it is from the flu... that flu only kills more because it is a mature disease that has already permeated the globe while Covid-19 is in its infancy. After a few minutes of this, though, I ended the conversation. There was no point in continuing. We weren't going to convince one another. Nurses get their medical information from the hospital, and the hospital has an agenda. It was obvious that they had been coached on how to respond to patients who express concern about the disease. To the detriment of these two nurses, they will soon see how mistaken they are.
