Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

Mr. President:

The Coronavirus will be both your greatest challenge and your greatest opportunity. I hope you will declare ALL OUT war on this threat & make it your #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5 priority - relegating EVERYTHING else to something less. If you do that you will probably be re-elected. If you don't, the US is likely to be in sad shape by next fall and your prior accomplishments won't really matter. Your priorities should be:

(1) The US government should assume **ALL** costs and hold nothing back in responding to this "Novel" virus. NO "private insurance". During war the US doesn't ask citizens to buy their own guns, ammunition, etc. During this WAR the US should assume **ALL** costs of fighting and winning the war against this contagion. If you don't do that, many people who need to be tested and treated will NOT be treated and will be left to spread the virus further. This is more important than donating money to other countries or more military spending. This is WAR -- treat it as such!

(2) BE TRANSPARENT AND OBSESSIVE WITH THE FACTS AND THE RESPONSE - including the problems. The CDC screw-up with the test-kits and the *clown show* of having all our safety masks, and most of our medicines, dependent on China is water under the bridge now. Make these part of your message to the Public. I suggest you take S. Korea as a model of how aggressively and transparently to respond to this crisis. They have been testing in the tens of thousands already. They have been totally focused and extremely engaged with the threat - and even declared it a war and taken war-time actions. The US, under your leadership, should do the same until this "enemy" is exterminated.

(3) COMMUNICATE FULLY AND 24/7 with updates. S. Korea supposedly uses the internet to keep citizens informed of where, exactly, the latest cases have been found. The Korean citizens have responded to this NOT by panicking but by participating in the solution.

(4) Stop tweets. EXECUTE!
