Oh well. I've kept (and eaten) frozen meat that was a LOT older than that. How do you protect it? Just wrap it tight?
"Freezer burn does not make the food unsafe; it merely causes dry spots in foods. The food remains usable and edible, but removing the freezer burns will improve the taste."

Ahh - the good ole Vitamin A is needed in cases for 'southern' prepping!! I am stocked with everything I can imagine I might need to hunker down for 2+/- months easy.

Decomposed yes NC borders GA so who knows how long before it breaks out here! And I saw your freezer - that meat did not look like it had any protection so I am sure you know it will burn in 3+/- months. I pack everything using my Foodsaver machine except shellfish which I freeze in water in quart size zip loc bags.

For those of us "Super Tuesday" states - vote early and vote often :-) Good Lord - just watched Donna (DNC anti Bernie & Hitlary operative) Brazile on FOX - damn she needs to be removed from TV - what a biotch!!!
