...a doctor once told me that the reason ya get more colds in the winter is because everybody stays inside closed up in close proximity and keeps the temperature 'high' providing an ideal area for all kinds of germs and viruses ect.

I can easily see one person with that stuff spreading to the entire community, and to the next village and so on..."I've been to Mexico too and am well aware of the conditions. But this virus does not depend upon squalid conditions. It does seem to depend upon cold weather. None of the places with significant breakouts have been warm. (You might think of Iran. Guess what? Iran has snow.) In Thailand, the Northern country has the virus. The warm Southern part does not. The Philippines had a case but no breakout. Etc. There's lots of reason to think Mexico won't have a big problem.
