Re: "So I finally have started this years tomato seeds. Assuming all of my seeds germinate I will grow the following heirlooms:"
I planted nearly three weeks ago (see photo, below) but will do a second round this weekend. Most of my tomatoes and marigolds have sprouted. Nothing yet from the peppers or eggplant - which are outside the photo's bounds. I haven't used a grow-light but will soon.

I've only got two varieties of tomato planted: Marion and Ace-55. I expect to have tons of volunteers too. There were literally hundreds of yellow pear tomatoes (cherry-tomato sized) left on the ground in the fall. I'll be pulling those plants out of the smaller garden like weeds.

You'll notice that the tomatoes near the bottom of the photo are leaning. That's because they tilt toward the light every morning. These plants are shown leaning AWAY from the window - because I just turned them around. I read somewhere that doing so will force them to not favor one direction more than another, resulting in stronger stalks. A myth? I don't know, but I'm turning them. In two hours, they'll be leaning the other direction.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

So I finally have started this years tomato seeds. Assuming all of my seeds germinate I will grow the following heirlooms:
Beefsteak
Black Krim
Paul Robeson
Cherokee Purple
Mortgage Lifter
Kellog’s Breakfast
Also started some “Grandi Foglie” large leaf basil.

I will also have “Mexican Midgets” pop up as volunteers. They are small tomatoes and grow in clusters of 7 yet they are very tasty!!! I will also plant some daikon radish’s this weekend and they will be a new addition to the lineup. I have lemon grass I will replant and also a kaffir lime tree that I will take back outside after the last frost – in my zone that is roughly 4/11.

Have a great day everyone!!

PEACE
