Gordmans stores in Grand Forks and Fargo to close later this year

Other media outlets across the country are reporting local closures, including in Indiana and Illinois.

Gordmans Stores Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection in March 2017. Later that year Stage Stores, a Houston-based retailer, paid $75.6 million to take over the Gordmans stores that stayed open.

Gordmans is just one of several retailers to close in recent years. Bed, Bath and Beyond announced its pending closure last year and is currently in the process of closing. Kmart also closed its doors in 2019. In 2018, Sears closed in the Columbia Mall, which has also lost Macy's in recent years.
