How in GOD'S name can you forget you are in England when you are there for a period of time? What a line of bull from whoever said it.

WHEN YOU operaste a motor vehicle in ANY country you are supposed to be knowledgeable about how to drive there.

This a prima dinna polico who should have known. Are you saying she is a BIMBO?

This did not happen in Iran, Turkey, Syria, or any third world crap hole. Our closest ally and friend and exactly WHO does not know that in Europe they drive opposite lane of what we do in U.S.
IF they were diplomats to the U.K. for more than ONE DAY, they would Know that.

Oh, I forgot, so I hit someone on a motorcycle because I am driving the wrong way on a road and in the wrong lane but I forgot I was in England and so I am not guilty of vehicular manslaughter because I am a diplomat's wife.

Sorry about your loss mother of man I killed by my negligence, stupidity, brain fart, forgetfulness. That makes it okay..

Just because you will no longer have the joy of your son at Christmas or your birthday or any other time for the rest of your life, too bad. I am a diplomat's wife and I have NO RESPONSIBILITY . Sorry.

WHAT a bunch of hooey....

Negligence from Meriam Webster:

failure to exercise the care that a reasonably prudent person would exercise in like circumstances

Sounds like negligence to me....

Maybe Webster is wrong...

Your last statement is very interesting. IF they were not diplomats, TRUMP is still the boss of the CIA as he is over the entire executive branch of government.

This whole thing is sordid and and just a mugging over a grieving mother. I am going to watch this closely from now until election.

This woman deserves justice for her son and remuneration from the United States for taking the life of her son wrongfully.

This whole thing reaks with political overtones and the only one getting screwed is the mother of the slain man. WHY? Because of political ties...

That to me is simply not right under ANY circumstances..

And as you pointed out, it could be that the President actually COULD come up with a solution to help this mother who has incurred the permanent loss of the baby boy she gave birth to.

Youhave to learn to look atthings like this De thru the eyes of the mother. Mothers see things differently than men and have deep feelings. Without them, you nor I would be here. They can grieve themselves to death because they feel the pain and anguish so deeply.

As I said earlier, I have withnessed it first hand and have held the hands and comforted them thru things like this before due to natural causes and I know the depths of despair and heartbreak for which there is no comfort..

She has been mistreated BADLY by our government and it seems the British gvernment as well. All toprotect a wrong way driver wife of somone connected to the US government. How wrong is that?

IF indeed this is CIA, Trump can explore avenues to help this surviving mother and rightfully he should do so. NO sir, we cannot bring back the son from the grave. But we can and should help her in every way we possibly can.

This is a travesty....

If Joey were killed accidentally by a foreign diplomat, I would be every bit as distraught and outraged as anyone might expect. I might want to kill the diplomat. But I wouldn't blame the President of the diplomat's country for not returning the culprit here to face American justice. I would realize that "immunity" means something, nauseating as it might be to me under those circumstances.

BTW, micro, I do not agree with you that the driver killed the cyclist through her negligence. Negligence has a specific legal meaning. Accidents do not necessarily involve negligence. From what I've read about this particular accident, there was no negligence. It was a mistake. She forgot that she was in England. That's not negligence.

President Trump is not the one to blame. What you really should target is the foreign policy that predates President Trump and grants immunity to diplomats. Maybe it's time to end that policy. BUT, understand that if you do, you may bring about an end to diplomacy around the world. After all, what person in their right mind would want to serve as a diplomat to a nation like Iran, Egypt, etc., where the system of justice is so very un-just? Diplomats either get immunity from prosecution for their crimes or relations between nations become very, very, VERY difficult.

BTW, the Americans involved may not have been diplomats. I found a believable article from Feb 18th that says both husband and wife are high ranking CIA officials. They DID have diplomatic immunity, and England assisted the wife in leaving the country. England then waited several weeks before telling the aggrieved mother.

Interesting, no?
