...many renters are people who are not into fixing up and repairing or even taking care of a home. They just screw it up and move on to another place.

This is why you should not rent. You have absolutely nothing to show for your money.

Go find a house that you can afford. A starter home. Small. OLD. Fix it up gradually and get it nice for yourself.

Over time...

I will never understand people here who pay over a thousand dollars a month to rent an apartment when they can buy lots of houses that the mortgages would be less than that per month.
