9. Most who die from COVID-19 are over age 60. That should make everyone on Atomicbobs feel good.

A few other things you might not know:

1. The WHO has finally given the virus a name that's easier to remember. It's "COVID-19." About time.

2. Per my wife, not only are infected people contagious before showing any symptoms, it's now thought that they are contagious after recovering. Uh. Let that sink in. I haven't yet found confirmation of it. Let's hope its not true.

3. Also on the "might not be true" list is: Once you've recovered, you can contract the disease again. There's no immunity. Moreover, a second bout with it has an excellent chance of being worse than the first.

4. On a per capita basis, the number of cases reported each day is increasing more rapidly in Singapore than any other country. HOWEVER, Singapore is being far more aggressive about testing for the disease than any other country. If you think about it, this is really disturbing. It probably means that the disease is growing like crazy in other countries too, but they have their heads in the sand.

5. COVID-19 probably won't be a "here today, gone tomorrow" threat. It will probably be like the flu, mutating and circulating year after year from now on.

6. The official mortality rate of 2% is derived by comparing the number who have died (1,383) to the number who have contracted the disease (64,437), yielding 2.14 percent. This is absurd, though, since an unknown number of those who have the disease will die from it in the coming weeks. The mortality rate would only be 2.14 percent if there were no more pending deaths among the 64,437.

7. For up to 24 days, infected persons may have no symptoms. During the first week with symptoms, patients develop fever and common cold-like symptoms. During week two, they either get better or develop breathing difficulties. During week three, the ones who didn't recover usually develop pneumonia which is what causes the deaths. The number of infected that's being reported to us every day completely excludes those who have the disease but haven't had breathing difficulties. In other words, it excludes the vast majority of those who have the disease - yet who are spreading it.

8. The Russians started a rumor that only Asians can catch the disease. That's not true. What was thought to be true, though, was that the virus attacks humans through something called an ACE-2 RECEPTOR. Not everyone has ACE-2 RECEPTORS. In fact, Asians are twice as likely (40%) to have them as Europeans (20%). It now sounds as if the ACE-2 RECEPTOR story has been debunked.
