My mechanic up the street cannot figure out what is wrong with my car. So I called the dealership and arranged to have it towed there to service.
Spoke with the service advisor on phone for a bit and went about my business for the day.

A short time ago the service advisor called me and told me what they had found and where we are at.
The service mechanic turned the car on and it did for him exactly what it did for me. On the third time the engine was turned on it seized totally.

So the engine is kaput. It needs a new one.

The adviser tells me they have been taking photos of everything this afternoon and building a presentation of facts for Hyundai to get a new replacement engine under warranty. That would also include a rental car while the car is at the dealership.
The vehicle is 4,000 miles past the warranty mileage but still 6 months less than the years.

Adviser seems to think that Hyundai will authorize a complete engine replacement as the mileage is pretty close and the car otherwise is immaculate with all service records.

Miz micro isn't taking it so good.

I am of the mindset that by putting a new engine in the car basically makes the mechanicals new. Its like a new used car. It's just very inconvenient . So we now have to wait to see what Hyundai is going to say about the warranty.
Hopefully they give us the 4,000 miles over and it costs us no more than the towing bills I have already paid..

So stay tuned for the next thrilling episode .

Off to my Grandson's house for his 17th birthday party in miz micro's car.

Have a good night everyone!

Best to all,
micro....
