They are adept at detecting and staying away from people. Many times I've gone hunting and, in 14 hours, haven't seen so much as a squirrel.

And remember: In whatever these hard times are that we're hypothesizing, you'll not only be searching for animals but competing for them with people who DO know how to hunt.
