Nemo > Take the buy out............
A few years ago, there was a buy out offer. A co-worker
of mine (he and I do the same thing) were called in to
see the Big Boss . . (one at a time) and we was both told
we were not getting a buy out offer. Something about we
was too valuable (and darn near impossible to find anyone
with our levels of expertise on our equipment) .. .
(I knew I shoulda hit them up for a BIG raise.)
This time around it smells like someone much higher up on
the food chain has decided to get rid of anyone who
costs the company money . . . the maintenance people
(of which I are one) are getting let go this time.
My boss said he was offered a buy out . . . but he is not
going to take it. He said he wants to watch and see how
long till the place self destructs.
And then there is always the possibility that 'they' might
recognize the mistake, and not let us go anyway.
I think I'll take the offer.
