Which is why I postulated that the rag-heads might have
mistook it for a B-52 . . . but, as I also said, what
would a B-52 have been doing taking off from the Tehran
airport.

why would you think that we would have a mole in the Irani chain of command to shoot down a passenger airliner?

It was shot down by a small group of common ragheads manning a Surface to air missile battery who did not know how to distinguish a passenger airliner from a fighter jet so they fired out of utter stupidity and itchy trigger fingers....
