Re: "DE, I am wondering how you are doing? You had a tough surgery and yer chest cracked open. "
This'll surprise ya: My chest kinda hurts!

I'm not in as much pain as you might think, though. It's mostly just discomfort. Most of the time it feels like the doc might've accidentally sewn up a chessboard in me.

I've been going to the hospital every 2-3 days to have my INR level checked. That's the coagulation level of my blood. 1.0 is normal. I'm supposed to be between 2.0 and 3.0 and have finally begun to record in that range. Now they'll start pushing my visits out to every 5 days which will be nice. Soon it will be a week, and eventually every 2-3 weeks.

I'm walking more. After today's hospital visit, my wife (since I'm not yet cleared to drive) and I went to a grocery store and I walked around slowly for 25 minutes. That's pretty good since they've only asked me to walk for 6 or 7 minutes, three times per day. My legs are good, but if I don't walk like an old lady my heart gets going too fast. For now, they want it below 95 bpm.

Nights are the worst. I don't like sleeping on my back, but I can't sleep on either side for the obvious reason. I'm not usually sleeping more than an hour at a stretch. Hopefully that will improve before much longer.

The only other issue is that I'm not supposed to lift much of anything. They say I can lift my drink, but that's about it. The concern is that my chest is wired together up the middle and it won't have any strength until the bones fuse. Various parties have told me that it will be 3 months, 6 months and 1 year before I'm really back to my old self. We'll see about that.

I hope you beat your bronchitis quickly, but I know from experience that nobody ever does. You and I are both in for rough winters, my friend, but at least I won't be doing much of anything. You, I suspect, will be your usual non-sedentary self!

Thanks for asking.

1. DE, I am wondering how you are doing? You had a tough surgery and yer chest cracked open. Yer MRS. is a better poster than you also... lol!!!! She's a treasure. You are a blessed man.

2 Saw doctor. Am recovering from acute bronchitis with a little liquid buildup in lower lobes just starting. Doc asks why I waited so long. I told him I was busy. He wasn't amused.. Another day or 2 and we would have had pneumonia in both lungs and I would be in hospital.

SO I have multiple meds I am taking, including Laying and resting a LOT, propped at an uprght angle. I find the recliner works best. Coughing and spitting crap fromdown below which tickles my throat. Ribs really hurt from the expanding and contracting lungs during coughing sessions.

Have some really good prescription cough syrup, extra large antibiotics, and take 12 hour Mucines AND Claritin in order to dry uop the snot producing factory called my sinuses. Got to stop sending this downs to lungs.

I am about HALF now. I have been up for about 2 hours and am getting very tired again. Just wanted to check in on you all.

Decomp, take it easy. You are in very good care with your wife. REST big guy.

Your commentary is always good and reasoned. But I think in yer household you have serious competition....

Se you all later. Time to go lay back own...
