Re: "Be the first to see the new James Bond 'Goldenhair!!"
That was hilarious. Believe it or not, it precipitated a brief medical crisis for me. Here's what happened.

I watched it and laughed so much that my heart hurt. I kid you not, *any* laughing hurts right now. ribit should be outlawed...

I left my room to jokingly tell my nurse that nobody in the cardiac unit should be allowed to watch funny videos. She agreed. Then she asked me to do some walking. I was feeling good so I said "sure."

"Walking" involves doing a lap around the cardiac unit, a distance of perhaps 300 feet. I did 9 laps yesterday and 7 today, so I figured I'd do just two more.

Twenty feet into the first lap, something blossomed in my right eye. It looked like a firework going off and it was BRIGHT. I've had migraines since I was a teenager and that's what I immediately suspected. But I've rarely or never had one come on so ferociously.

Fortunately, I was standing right next to a second nurse when this thing happened. I told her I was experiencing an event in my right eye and that it might be a migraine. My concern, though, was that it wasn't. The symptoms were atypical compared to other migraines I've had, and the thing could have been a stroke.

As this is happening, the nurse asks me "What room are you in?" Here's where it gets a little bit funny. What the nurse MEANT was "What room are you assigned to?" What I HEARD was "What's the name of the room you're standing in?"

I said, "I don't know the name. It's the cardiac unit." She said, "Yes, but what room are you in?" I said, "I don't know. The lobby?" She said, "No, you aren't in the lobby." By this point, I was thinking that she was questioning my cognitive ability. I, of course, knew that my thinking was just fine. It was only my eyesight that was impaired. I said, "Well, I don't know it's name. The Admin area? The Cardiac unit?" She finally asked, "What's your name?" I told her. One of the LNAs now joined in. "His room is over here" and they brought me back to my room.

Pretty funny, when you think about it. I told the nurse afterward that the whole problem was that she didn't ask what my room number was; she asked what room I was in.

Anyway, I had a migraine. It *was* atypical, though. My usual migraines involve dehydration, but I wasn't dehydrated. I drank a lot of water after getting back to my room... 24 ounces or so... and the migraine symptoms went away in near-record time. Afterward, I was puzzling over why I would have had a migraine. I don't get many of them these days and I'm definitely drinking plenty of water right now. Then it dawned on my that I've been put on Lasix because of the severe inflammation I complained about Sunday morning. My fingers and knees were puffy Saturday night and everything hurt. I barely slept all night. But they don't hurt anymore, and I'm thinking that Lasix might have one of the nastier side effects that dehydration also causes: Migraines.

In any event, my next Lasix dose is tomorrow morning. I'll likely decline it unless I have another bout of puffiness.

Now I'm back to feeling better than ever... well, better than ever with my new valve, I mean.
