I don't know about the controls or software but if the MAIN problem is the engines, change them. There are plenty to choose from...

From my understanding the software was designed for the older smaller engines. When they tried to put these monster engines on, they were so big, when mounted where the old ones were, they almost hit the ground, so they had to move them forward UP the wing and tried some cheesy fixs to the software to compensate for the extra weight forward of center of gravity, From what I was told. Big mistake it was doing this to the plane...........

SO WHY DOESN;T bOEING SIMPLY REPLACE THOSE oversized engines with smaller ones that will safely get the job done in a safe manner?

Seems kind of logical to me. The Plane itself is nicely laid out on the inside.
