It should be comforting to know that most times those shells that are "cracked open" are mostly shattered and not whole... lol!!!!!!!! (I know, sick humor)
De, in all seriousness, please realize that in spite of optimistic comments from yer heart surgeon, this is SERIOUS surgery. ANYTHING can hapen and mostly itis OUT of the hands of mortal men..
I am personally very concerned about your health as well as your outcome. You are a brilliant person, hard working, and I truly do not want anything to go awry.
BUT IT COULD.
TWO people I ask the GOD of Heaven and earth to watch over constantly are YOU and Kathy. I KNOW Him and HE knows everything about me as well as you.
Please do what you can to prepare for that day emotionally, physically, and SPIRITUALLY.
MY Christmas, should GOD allow me to live that long, will be to know you came through with a good prognosis. That will also be your beloved wife's Christmas present as well.
Our life on earth is tempoaray. A greater life awaits everyone, one without restrictions.

PLease purchase a single book by David Limbaugh called JESUS on TRIAL. David Limbaugh was a none believer until he as a lawyer started invetigating with an open mind the BIBLE and what it says about Christ. It is an easy to read and understand book that will make a huge impression. I have his other books as well.
You as a skeptic should read from another skeptic who after doing the research, came to the conclusion that HE IS who the BIBLE says HE IS. GOD in the FLESH.
THOSE of us who have faith in HIM as man's Messiah and redemption, are going to see HIM when we leave this human body.
