Discrimination is NOT a one-way street.  

...it is, but it shouldn't be. Restaurants can refuse to serve cops or folks wearing MAGA hats but a bakery cannot refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple.

Hmmm ... I can understand being fired if you allow your political beliefs to override your common sense and you cause disruptions in the workplace, but THAT isn't because of the political beliefs you hold, near and dear ... no, that's because you have a distinct lack of self-control and sense of decorum. In other words, it's your behavior, not your beliefs, that caused you to self-destruct.

Also, I am well-aware that asking potential new-hires about their marital status, if they are a U.S. citizen, if they have children, about their religion, what age they are, about their sexual orientation, or if they have any disabilities are BIG NO-NOs that can get you into legal difficulties.

Sooooooooo ... why wouldn't it be strictly verboten to deny a job applicant based on that applicant's beliefs about political issues and officeholders, on whether homosexuality is perversion or not, on whether certain races should be given preferential treatment or not, etc.???

Discrimination is NOT a one-way street.
