And they call them RARE?????????????????? talk about a hyped up rock........... Had top do some checkin. Its up in the air I guess......
All the diamonds EVER polished would barely fill a London double-decker bus. I don’t know how many cups there are in a bus, but I’d be willing to bet you run out long before everyone in India has their share. As Steven notes, about half of all mined diamonds are used for industrial purposes (drill bits, etc.). These are poor quality (yellow and highly included, which means black specs that didn’t make the trip from carbon to diamond). But even if you included all those, China would be your downfall.
It’s possible this “fact” includes all the diamonds still in the ground, both u...(more) The answer is generally, Yes. The reason is that diamond, as a material, is relatively common. This covers an extremely broad range of quality from diamonds that are not even useable for sandpaper, right up to the Hope diamond. The point is that there are WAY more diamonds floating around than people imagine. As for the absolute mathematical factuality of the statement, you’d have to do the math. But the general concept is reasonable.

They do hold back a lot more than most people think but...there are thousands of times more Diamonds that are ultra tiny and ugly than 3 carat plus stones and thousands of untouched stones still in the ground for each one in a Jewelry store. Mankind still has a lot of things to find. Abrasive quality small stones or grit sells for only about 1 $ per carat and it's only sandpaper so to speak.
