I'm proud of myself for doing something I've talked about for fifteen years - finally buying some blight resistant chestnut trees to be planted in the Spring. Chestnuts used to DOMINATE the forests east of the Mississippi but are all but extinct today due to a blight that struck them down in the early 1900s.

These trees are 15/16ths American Chestnut, 1/16th Chinese Chestnut. The hybrid nature of the trees is what makes them resistant to the blight which persists even today.

I'll ask some of the guys I know if they'd be interested in buying a few for $5 each. I'd be happy with 25 trees but bought 50 to get the quantity discount.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
