I'm not clear about your response. Please clarify: Are you saying that your wife and gay brother lacked a dominant, masculine role model and instead had a domineering mother? That would support my premise.

I can't say as I've known very many gay people and
their families . . . But, once upon a time I was
married . . .

And the creature I had made the mistake of marrying
had a brother who was gay. And in the Navy. Three
gay squids sharing an apartment.

My (now ex) monster-in-law was a piece of work. She
was on at least her second husband and I didn't see much
of him. My now ex and her momma were experts in finding
ways to abuse the guys in their lives. One sister-in-law
was a card carrying member of the clan.

Oddly enough, another sister-in-law had married a decent
guy and moved to the other end of the city. They was
normal and good peoples.

Once I had it beaten through my thick skull that I had made
a monumental mistake I separated from and divorced myself
from that creature.
