I awoke at 7:30 and realized that it was the first time, maybe in years, that I'd had a comfortable night.

It used to be that I could sleep on rocks and be just fine. For the last decade, every part of my body that's had pressure on it has ached at night - even the insides of my knees if I'm lying on a side. I've gotten to where I sleep with hands and feet draped off of the bed, and I toss and turn all night. I think that's what happens when a heart is inefficient.

For the last three days, I've been on a beta blocker that is supposed to give the heart a boost. I think I'm noticing it. This morning was like deja vu: "Oh, yeah! It's all coming back to me. Sleeping used to be enjoyable!!!"

I hope it keeps up - or, better yet, that this is what it will be like when I get the new valve.

It's funny how you forget things when they're taken away gradually. How many times have I mentioned the frog sitting in the pot on the stove, never jumping out of the water even as it is gradually coming to a boil? Here, it's been happening to me all the while - not that I've had a means of jumping out. But problems build slowly and you gradually forget how you're supposed to feel.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
