This is actually a very great event and will be used by God to reach people for the cause of Christ.
They have outgrown their old place of worship and are going to bild a bigger one. IN the meantime, the Church services will go on as usual.
Very normal event in churches that are vibrant across this land.
I wish them all the best in thier project!
(I have beeninvolved inersonally three such building projects at the Churchs) I have experienced and participated in this several times and it has been because we have outgrown facilities and have not enough seating capacity and Sunday School classroom space.
In America, people have much larger "SPACE" requirements than other countries. WE do not like to be "crowded" or have someone too close to us. Another thing thathappens in Churches is the 80/20 rule. When a Church auditorium get close to 80 percent full, it's time to do something.
Again, the being crowded thing. People do not like to feel scrunched up.
So Churches do one of two things or both.
They schedule TWO different service times to break up the number of people in the auditorium (sanctuary) to create more space and thus, more room for visitors to feel comfortable and become a part of this local new testament body of believers, or the Church can vote on to build a new and much larger auditorium..
Building is very expensive and can be several million dollars.
SO, that is what happened at this Church in Cleveland, Texas.
If you want to burn out a Pastor quickly, have him preaching two Sumnday morning services and doing all the preparation for that during the week, and then have an evening service and meet in mid week for a time of prayer and a small message of encouragement..
When I teach or preach, I intensley study and research my message on average over 15 hours..... That is for ONE 30 minute speaking time.
That gives you some idea of what good Pastors who study the Word of God actually do to prepare to edify the people of God and instruct them in HIS Words and to encourage them..
Anyway, I am delighted to see these people having to build and grow and remain faithful..
