McCartney recorded Come and Get It in 1969, when he arrived early for an Abbey Road session. He laid down the lead vocals and piano on track one, sang backup and played maracas on track 2, then played bass and drums on successive overdubs. He finished in less than an hour. When 'The Iveys' - later known as 'Badfinger' - requested the song for a movie, McCartney agreed on the condition that they not change it. They agreed and McCartney ultimately produced their song.

McCartney's 'Abbey Road' recording is now available:

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

It's For You

Brian Epstein, The Beatles' manager, managed many other bands and singers. Every so often, he'd give their careers a jump by throwing them a McCartney or Lennon song that the Beatles had written but opted not to record. That's how Cilla Black lucked into It's For You in 1964.
