You shold consider moving out this way. WE have the Great Lakes which you could use, or the Ohio River with tons of marinas . Plenty of extrememly large lakes around such as Eastfork Lake which is about ten miles from my house.
Plenty a guy like you could do out here. And the cost of living is about half of where you are.... We have four grocery superstores competing for business within a half mile radius. That keeps pricing competitive. The River is 11 miles south of me.... It's only half a mile wide and normal depth is 26 feet. It gets larger as it travels toward Louisville where it is a mile wide.
